I’ve decided a blog is in order about each of my upcoming shows- and then a follow up post. Keep y’all in the loop about the life of art and vintage selling!
Starting to day with my LAST show of the upcoming season- Vintage Pickin’ Barn Sale, Friday May 20th and Saturday, May 21st in Fyffe, Alabama at beautiful White Oaks Farm. This sale will be a mixed show of Vintage and Antiques, and repurposed items. There will be live music, local food vendors. Given the venue and the time of year it is sure to be lively, and energetic. Given the roster of vendors- the pickin is sure to be amazing! Please no one tell my husband how broke we are going to go sending me to these shows to “work?”
One of the things that stands out about this show (I haven’t done it before) is how quickly other vendors reached out to me. I was almost immediately friended by Krysti Franklin of Hello_Cottage. She so sweetly invited me to stay with her at her family’s beautiful farmhouse not far from the venue and has been such a sweet encourager. Even though we haven’t met in person yet I feel like she is already a fast friend. She is also an extraordinary picker. If you get the chance to follow her on IG or Facebook please do! She is a featured vendor at other barn sales as well, and I know she has been busily picking iron stone, antique linens, and classic farmhouse style pieces to bring to the event!
Another vendor I am thrilled to meet in person is SassyTrash- I don’t even know her first name! She is an assemblage artist out of Georgia and makes the most beautiful artwork and sculptures from found objects. (a practice near and dear to my heart!) We have been following one another on Instagram for some time- and just this past week I saw she was coming! Can’t wait to see her work in person!
Because this is an authentic Barn Sale you will find me set up in Barn 1! Just got my booth assignment! And don’t worry- I’ll be working hard between shows, refreshing my stock and filled with fresh inspirations! Hope to see you in Fyffe!
